    Miranda Priest

    Head Nurse

    RVN

    Miranda completed her nursing training with us and qualified in 2005. She spent time at other local practices before returning to our practice as head nurse in 2008. She has been involved with nurse training and even examines the students at the local college. Miranda is a trained Pet Health Counsellor and she likes to run weight management clinics. In her spare time Miranda is a keen cyclist and enjoys walking her new Border Collie puppy.

    Grace qualified as a vet nurse in 2013, and spent time at Head and Head while completing her training. She has a passion for diagnostic imaging and also helps with the seal sanctuary. Outside of work, she is a foster carer and enjoys looking after her horses.

    Megan joined the team in 2019 and completed her nursing training in 2022. Her favourite part of her role is assisting with surgical procedures, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks along the coast and spending time with her cat.

    I’m Becky, but everyone calls me Becks. I joined the practice in September 2023. I love spending time outdoors at the beach and exploring with my husband and three daughters. My interests at work include anaesthesia, and emergency and critical care…and getting to know the clients and their pets! I’m also a big softy for cats!

  • Gemma Manning

    Head Receptionist

    Gemma joined the team in November 2024 – Coming from a background of management in a GP Surgery and a Crematorium, Gemma wanted to pursue her love of animals in a career sense. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and her new little puppy Woody! She has medals in Latin and Ballroom dancing and had just qualified as a Community first responder for the ambulance service helping to save lives in the local area.

    Receptionist

    Alison joined our small animal reception team in 2017 and loves meeting all the pets that come through our doors! Outside of work she enjoys walks on the beach with her dog Saffi and spending time at her allotments.

    Nicky joined our team in 2021 and loves the variety of her role in the reception team. In her own time, she volunteers for the National Animal Welfare Trust and enjoys open water swimming, beach cleaning and dress making.

    Charmaine Cowie

    Practice Manager

    Charmaine joined Head and Head in 2016 as the Financial Administrator and advanced to Practice Manager in March 2023.
    She loves spending time with family and friends, taking beach walks with her dog, and enjoys a variety of crafting hobbies.

    Sally Bastian

    Financial Administrator

    Sally joined us recently in March 2023, taking on all the finances for the practice. Sally has been down the Tin Mines in Cornwall, caving in Somerset and pot holing in Derbyshire, She has also climbed mountains in Scotland & Northern Ireland. A keen walker of the Cornish coast from the Helford to Trevose Head. She also has 6 Grandchildren.

    Receptionist

    Debbie joined the team in October 2023 after working in finance for many years. Debbie brings a wealth of admin knowledge to the team – Debbie enjoys walking around the beautiful countryside and coastlines of Cornwall with her little dog Winston and her family. Debbie is passionate about the care of animals! In her spare time likes to learn new things and is currently working on her crocheting skills.

    Receptionist

    Stephanie is our newest member of the reception team. She started in November 2024 after moving to Cornwall. Stephanie is enjoying meeting the people of Helston and working with her new colleagues. Outside of work, she is busy exploring the Southwest Coastal Paths taking in the lovely views of Cornwall and has a strong passion for animals.
